South Parkdale Real Estate

Once very rough around the edges, like the remainder of the neighbourhood, South Parkdale is gradually gentrifying, with vintage stores and independent eateries whose lineups fill the sidewalk, and an authentic thriving music scene. On the side streets Victorian houses, often renovated, are plentiful, as are larger apartment complexes. Running from Dovercourt Rd in the east, bordering a stretch of the lake in the south and west, Queen St in the north and Manitoba Dr in the south, the area doesn’t contain much greenery but is on the lakefront and contains Marilyn Bell Park. The TTC services the area with buses running north-south and streetcars going east-west on both Queen and King Streets.

Sweet Eats

The neighbourhood is home to various popular casual eating establishments. Pop into Grand Electric for some of the best fish tacos in the city, served with equally delicious cocktails while hip hop plays, or visit Chantecler, a small intimate space, which has gained a great reputation for its popcorn shrimp to its calamari.

Parkdale is home to many favourite vintage stores. From House of Vintage to Common Sort, savvy shoppers pick up vintage designer items in great condition. (Common Sort will also buy in-season items from its customers in return for store credit.) Meanwhile, Public Butter has a lower price point and specializes in plaid and outerwear.
